Usually held the third Thursday of the month at Delicious Bakery, this is an opportunity to talk with others with children on the spectrum.

Sometimes it’s an informative meeting with a guest speaker, sometimes it’s a potluck, sometimes it’s a roundtable discussion, but it’s always a way to connect with others. Usually held at on the second Thursday of the month

Autism Unbound Classroom Grant Program Guidelines

Grant requests will be received by Mylene Toledo, two times per traditional school calendar. The deadlines and corresponding grant review dates are as follows:
DEADLINES
September 21st/January 21st
As of the new 2017-2018 Academic School Year our Grant Request Forms are now submitted exclusively online.
Guilford County teachers, SLP’s, OT’s, APE’s, itinerant teachers, and other professionals who service children with autism are eligible to participate.
Forms must be complete, & accurate. Please include your school address, zip code, e-mail & telephone with extension. When requesting items, remember to include the vendor’s website, item/model numbers, price ,volume discounts, taxes, and shipping.
Please include the number of children with autism the you serve.
When requesting software, please include the version/operating system.
If requesting books or training materials, please include the author/publisher/edition.
Please include a description of how the requested items will enhance your work with students.
Please note Autism Unbound is unable to provide for the following items
- Consumables such as food, gasoline, printer ink, or paper
- Field trip costs
- iPads or similar devices
- Apps for Ipads and other mobile electronic devices
- Curriculum
Weighted vests, lap pads, or other Occupational or Speech Therapy supplies, can be provided if items are prescribed by a licensed Guilford County therapist. (Written documentation must be provided.) These supplies are approved by our Board, for the safety of the students and protection of our GCS staff.
Requests for reimbursement must be pre-approved by the Autism Unbound Board.
Housekeeping:
Grant applicants will be notified via email regarding their grant status. For this reason, please check your email for accuracy prior to submitting your application.
Most items will be shipped directly to the school’s main office, with the exception of certain items (technological devices, internet subscriptions). Please notify Mylene Toledo by email grants@autismunbound.org, if you have not received your items by the end of the month.
When all grant request items have been received please forward any invoices or receipts that may have been enclosed in your box(es).
You will receive a letter with enclosed Autism Unbound stickers. Please affix stickers to granted items (if possible) as a reminder:
All items purchased for the class, is the property of Guilford County Schools. In the case of private schools, it remains the property of that individual school. It is not property of the teacher, or therapist that makes the request. Items should not be removed from the classroom or facility. Items are to remain at the school and program to use for those students who have autism.
